桁梁式桥:有坚固的横梁,横梁的每一端都有支撑.最早的桥梁就是根据这种构想建成的.他们不过是横跨在河流两岸之间的树干或石块.现代的桁梁式桥,通常是以钢铁或混凝土制成的长型中空桁架为横梁.这使桥梁轻而坚固.利用这种方法建造的桥梁叫做箱式梁桥.
