形容词加介词,怎么理解

to是介词。是不是介词只要看后面的内容就可以了。to后面跟的是名词a wife,所以是介词
subimissive to sth/sb,对...顺从。这里就是对妻子很顺从，也就是妻管严
补充：
不是变成动词。submissive严格翻译是“易顺从的”，也就是仍然是形容词性。汉语里形容词、名词、动词都是一个词，不用区分形式，英语里不是这样的，所以你觉得在汉语里是动词，英语里依然是形容词。
