实验方法:

把糖块放到盛有很多水的玻璃容器中,不加搅拌,一股很细的强光束水平地射入容器后,被折向容器底,而后又从底面反射向上,不断地弯曲,最后又水平地射出容器侧壁。

光向来都是直线传播的,为什么会弯曲呢?

原来,糖块放入水里后,一时来不及溶化。容器底部的糖块积得最多,折射率的改变自然也最大。这样,就造成深度不同折射率不等的情况。

细光束进入容器后,据折射定律可知,光线偏折向下。由于折射率随深度变大,故而越往下,光线弯曲得越厉害。当光线抵达底部后,又被反射向上,再次不断地被弯曲,但是弯曲得越来越慢。
