Anfractuosity is not always complicated or involved between times. I happened to come upou such a thing.
Last winter, my friend invited me to pay a visit to his hometown after she had been there some days before. He wrote and told where his home was and drew a detail map to me. He said he would meet me at the station.
I reached there at the dusk. Unfortunately, my friend was not waiting for me at the gate of the exit. Having waited for him some munites, I decided to go to his residence believing could be easy to find the place directed by the map.
The city is a strange place. According to the map, I stepped onto the main road to his home. However, It was not long before I had found the streets there were complicated. The main street leading me was zigzag, now westward, now eastward and occasionally backward. Even more, pretty a few lanes stuck out from the other side of it, something like odds and ends of the branches of a tree. I tried hard to find out the lane to my friend’s. After had passed though a lane, I looked up the man once again. I didn’t realized I had lost myself until I was not able to distinguish east from west.
It was getting dark. Soon everything was becoming dark around me: the sky was overcast with dark clouds; the street lamps were flickering in the dusky; the houses were could be seen only in their outlines. It was a complicated surrounding, too.
I had no choice but to hav to ask the way to the passerbys. Unluckily, the mixed accent of the local inhabitant was still more complicated.
“Hi, could you tell me the way to the Xingfu Dadao Street?” I asked an old woman.
“Flom her ta de …”, said she. She spoke so quickly that I could tell some some words from the whole and the rest of them I could not follow at all. I thought that perhaps she seemed to tell me “from here to the …”
I had to turn to another man.
“Flom her ta de …,” he uttered the same phrase with a singing voice.
I could not even catch a few isolated words and phrases, and all they told me was in vain. How should I do in such a complicated situation? Is it possible that I stay in the open air to pass the cold night?
I was worried and regretted not waiting for my friends at the station longer. The north wind was blowing harder and harder. I felt I was freezing to death in the damned weather in this city of the border area. Could anybody come to help me out of the difficult position? I am on the verge of giving up all my hope. Good heavens! If there were an angel!
“Where are you, my friend?” I murmured to myself.
God bless me! I was in a lather over nobody for help, when suddenly I caught sight of the age-old tree at my nose, which my friend had mentioned in his letter and marked it in the map. His home is right beside the right of the tree. What a easy anfractuosity!
At that time, my friend hurried up, looking here and there, as if he was at the end of his tether. He was hunting for me worriedly. I stopped him and shouted to him: “I am here”. We embraced arms in arm, tears running down both of our faces.

All this indicates that a bachelor's degree (学士学位) can hardly qualify students for a competitive position. If I am faced with the choice, I prefer to stay and pursue a M. A. degree. I know my choice will mean a commitment of time and money. But opportunities always take the form of hardships and risks. The days might be rigorous and painstaking, but they would certainly be fulfilling and rewarding, and would surely lead to a prosperous future.
