= (He felt it a pity) that he didn't see the film.
解释：it为形式宾语，a pity为宾语补足语，而that从句为真正的宾语。

3. The children were so excited that they jumped up and shouted.
= The children were excited enough to jump up and (shout).
解释：shout和jump up并列，放在不定式符合to之后，所以用动词原形。

4. He was very unhappy when he came back from school.
= He came back from school (unhappy).
解释：此处用形容词unhappy做为伴随状语。

5. Have you returned the book you borrowed last wek?
= Have you (given back) the book you borrowed last week?
解释：return = give back 归还
