区分一下whomever与whoever的用法，举例也好。

在一般旧词典中，几乎查不到whomever这个词，但现在的高三临考模拟中，这两个词几乎形影不离，使得有些同学碰到它们感到有些棘手。近几年的教学经验让我感觉对他们还是有章可循，能够分辨的。

下面试着分析一下：

从形式上来看，who(ever)是人称代词的主格形式，一般在句子中作主语；whom(ever)是人称代词的宾格形式，故一般作宾语。

从内容上来说，像whoever（whomever)，我个人的体会是一定不能仅仅把它看成是一个词汇，一定要把它看成两个词。这里有一条规则可以一试：

whoever=him (her, them)+he (she, they)

whomever= him(her, them)+ him (her, them)

验证一下：

1. Give it to _____ asks for it first.

Give it to him. He asks for it first.

Therefore, Give it to whoever asks for it first. (whoever= him+ he)

2. We will hire_______ is most qualified.

We will hire her. She is most qualified.

Therefore, We will hire whoever is most qualified. (whoever= her+ she)

3. We will hire_____ you recommend.

We will hire them. You recommend them.

Therefore, We will hire whomever you recommend. ( whomever= them + them)

另有一点请同学们必须注意：

不能只看句子的前半部分，要观察整个的句子。一般说来，whomever不能做句子的主语是不能忘记的。

尝试一下：

1.Please award the prize to ______comes first in the competition.

2.The work should be given to ____ you think can finish it ahead of time.

3.Do what you want to with _____ you want to do it.
