Within this deeply moving film "big fish", director Dim · Bodun takes us to have entered a pair of self's inner world of the father and son. Will and France woman who is once called Josephine have got married afterwards , have finally have left self family and the father who chatters away. Will has not got in touch with home till now wholly for 3 years, telephone , she have told Will coming this day mother Sandra (Jessica · Lange adorns) being beaten abruptly , his father has caught cancer , has asked him to go home seeing final one aspect of father very approximately with the world the before long. Will and wife have returned to a home village , Will has heard those his father's young moment legend once again. Be daring and energetic , driven by wild ambition one person when (he|she's ten thousand · Maikuige adorn) description , self are young according to Edward, he always wants to leave self small habitancy village, life getting rid of the big city experiencing once outside. In spare time of these short stories of the Tang and Song dynasties, Edward has also sent out self and love story of wife Sandra how he is come her across , how, to be touched and is faced her by her beauty to make a proposal. Much truer but although Will who gives an account of middle from these discovers polishing having contained many among them, than self thought that before, they are only the intense emotion that father asks to reserve over and one kind honest way. In Edward life at last moment,he has finally gained son's respecting and make of , the Will at last will have may be a very true story for father has given an account of one: Edward will be able to pass away serenelyly in being encircled by relative being loving him in depths. This film is extremely aesthetic , sweet having been full of the imaginative faculty and unreal dyadic devil film being hit by that pouring secretly is quiet. A man the first person visual angle and the large amount of aside way have been described is full of a lifetime of short stories of the Tang and Song dynasties color. Much's moment we are too busy to go to examine that all stories closely being true or not, after all as for our such spectator , true or not seemingly not so important. More important being , we see the deep love that more being restrain within that within these stories. Edward is a all delighted man of proprietor , is full of the imaginative faculty and the novel story because of brave but kindhearted , having at any time in the brain because of him because of he be good at social intercourse and be fond of this road. But be not such one thing but seemingly completely as for Will. His father resembles the truer father who is that one lives in a suppositional hero inside the groundless fairy tale, but he wants , is only one only besides in children's stories seemingly more. Maybe, he close feeling that depths not understanding father gather. The malposition that this has understood that has been acquired slight sorrowfulness of a layer , two generation person by this film between, that the adyramia between father and son is linked up looks like one kind of modern common failing seemingly more. Maybe exactly as Edward institute anger's: "I am so true all along all but display my self all all absolutely without consideration for others to you, if, you fail to see that true my failure being you, but are not my failure ". A lifetime of Edward can be unfolded entirely within film within the aside babbling, although the number is bringing his extremely subjective hero color along here. All these is true or not but disregarding all , find that if Will has sufficient acute and careful words , he maybe will be, be containing a same true father, however his not finding that within all legend. This is that Will is son's failure indeed. The general true Will story in tracking down, is that side about father is the truest. Film has been revealed in the at last this all all: Witch , common people , ghost town , poet , big fish , circus troup , war , twin sister etc., there had existed in all these in fact all true possessions field, after being only Edward using self way to use rich imaginative faculties to have linked up and have re-organized refraction comes out again. I don know Will is satisfied or not to such an answer, in any case from my point of view, such final makes me satisfied but happy. More moment of this film is that way has carried out an exploration on father and son communicating with between two generation. Have sympathy for the footnote being that this film is maximal. The flourishing aesthetic lining, but sorrow is sorrow even if this footnote is always conceal in cordial affection of in relation to and relevant , I have no way to continue later development abruptly after being excavated out. All fairy tales will be able to have a final ultimately. The film at last and the children's stories at last agree with field overlapping having arrived at like this together. The proprietor is all laughing heartily , not sorrowful. They see Edward off sincerely. The film sees an at last also begin to emerge out some looking like sincere smiling face on my face. Laugh at , imply happy being unredeemed quilt saving as well as god-fearing like this. . . . . .

剧情:

At his son's wedding party, Edward Bloom tells the same tale he's told many times over the years: on the day Will was born, he was out catching an enormous uncatchable fish, using his wedding ring as bait. Will is annoyed, explaining to his wife Josephine that because his father never told the straight truth about anything, he felt unable to trust him. He is troubled to think that he might have a similarly difficult relationship with his future children. Will's relationship with his father becomes so strained that they do not talk for three years. But when his father's health starts to fail, Will and the now pregnant Josephine return to Alabama. On the plane, Will recalls his father's tale of how he braved a swamp as a child, and met a witch who showed him his death in her glass eye. With this knowledge, Edward knew there were no odds he could not face.

Edward continues telling tall tales, claiming he spent three years confined to a bed as a child because his body was growing too fast. He became a successful sports player but found the town of Ashton too small for his ambition, and sets off with the misunderstood giant Karl. Edward discovers the hidden town of Spectre, where everyone is friendly to the point of comfortably walking around barefoot. Edward leaves because he does not want to settle anywhere yet, but promises to a young girl named Jenny that he will return. Karl and Edward begin working at a circus: Edward works without pay, as he has been promised every month he will learn something new about a girl he fell in love with (at first sight) by the ringmaster Amos Calloway. Three years later, having only learned trivia about her, Edward discovers Amos is a werewolf. In return for his refusal to harm him in his monstrous state, Amos tells Edward the girl's name is Sandra Templeton and she studies at Auburn University.

Edward learns Sandra is engaged to Don Price, who is also from Ashton. Don beats up Edward when he learns about his feelings for her, but this only disgusts Sandra into ending their engagement and falling for Edward. During his recovery, Edward is conscripted by the army and sent to Korea. He parachutes into a theater entertaining troops, steals important documents, and convinces Siamese twin dancers Ping and Jing to help him get back to America, where he will make them stars. Unable to contact anyone on his journey home, the military declares him dead. This limits Edward's job options when he does return home, so he becomes a traveling salesman. Meeting the poet Norther Winslow from Spectre again, he unwittingly helps him rob a bank, which is already bankrupt. Edward suggests Winslow work at Wall Street, and Winslow thanks Edward for his advice by sending him $10,000, which he uses to buy a dream house.

Still unimpressed by his father's stories, Will demands to know the truth, but Edward explains that is who he is: a storyteller. Will finds Spectre, and meets an older Jenny, who explains Edward rescued the town from bankruptcy by buying it at an auction and rebuilding it with financial help from many of his previous acquaintances. When Will returns home, he is informed his father had a stroke and is at the hospital. He goes to visit him there and finds him only partly conscious, and unable to speak at length. Since Edward can no longer tell stories, he asks Will to tell him the story of how it all ends: escaping from the hospital, they go to the river where everyone in Edward's life appears to bid him goodbye. Will carries his father into the river where he becomes a big fish. Edward then passes away, knowing his son finally understands his love of storytelling. At the funeral, Will sees many of his father's more unusual friends, including Amos, Karl, Ping and Jing and Norther Winslow, although they are not entirely the same as in the stories (for example, Karl was not a giant, but still very tall). When his own son is born, Will passes on his father's stories, remarking that his father became his stories, allowing him to live forever.

I approach Tim Burton films with a certain trepidation. Will it be "Edward Scissorhands" or "Batman II?" With Burton you could get a quirky comedy, a dark thriller, or sweet morality tale. And there's always the possibility of Danny DeVito chomping down on a raw fish.

"Big Fish" combines Burton's unusual humor with a heart-wrenching story of a father-son deathbed reconciliation. Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor share the role of Ed Bloom, one of the big fish from the movie's title while an SUV-sized catfish plays the other. Bloom is a metaphorical and literal big fish in the small pond of Ashton, Alabama in this tale told mostly through flashback. Jessica Lange plays his wife and Billy Crudup plays the son, Will, estranged from his father for the past three years. Father and son are reunited as Finney lies dying of cancer.

Ed Bloom has spent his life spinning his personal history into mythological proportions: an early encounter with a very tall man becomes a battle with a house-sized giant; a rural village is depicted as heaven on earth; military service during the Korean War morphs into a behind-the-lines mission that would make Duke Nukem proud. Originally a true believer, Will now knows everything his father has told him was not just an exageration or even a tall tale but an outright lie. In his effort to understand the truth behind his father's stories he learns to love the man as well as the mythology. And Burton delivers a terrific punchline at the end of the film that left me both tickled and weeping, a truly weird emotional state.

Burton deals with mythic themes in "Big Fish." Besides the surface story of the generational tension between father and son he explores the metaphor of the big-fish-in-a-small-pond by examining the impact Ed Bloom has had on the lives he's touched in his workaday contacts with colleagues, customers (he's a traveling salesman), and people in the small towns across the South. Not exactly "It's A Wonderful Life," he still manages to show how all of us -- even the little fish -- have profound effects on the people around us. And of course love -- unrequited and reciprocated -- control almost all of Ed's many adventures.

The acting is wonderful. You will actually believe two Brits and a Scot (Finney, Helena Bonham Carter, and McGregor) are natives of small town Alabama. Lange brings dignity and brio to the role of the long "suffering" wife -- and she still looks great(!)-- you believe she has had a long and loving life with Finney/McGregor. DeVito is a delight in the role of a circus ringmaster. But the scene-stealer is Bonham Carter in the dual role of Jenny and the crone witch.

plot:The story revolves around a dying father and his son, who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years. The son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father's great feats and his great failings. Written by Anonymous

This film follows the incredible life of Edward Bloom, through a series of flashbacks that begin when his son Will visits him for the last time. Edward is dying of cancer, and Will hasn't spoken to him for years because he believes him to be a liar that never really cared for his family. As Edward's story unfolds once again, Will tries to finally understand the truth about who his father really was... Written by Chris Makrozahopoulos
